Today we seeing several well-meaning demonstrations against the Wall Street disrule of the planet.  Is this enough?  What if we don't need a re-volution in which we run the risk of a "meet the new boss same as the old" scenereo.  What if we evolved from the inside out moreso than revolve by keeping our focus on external powers?  Perhaps we can rid ourselves of the need for the external?

Cornhusker4Palin Thanks for getting off of the right wing spin on occupywallstreet and posting a very interesting article. If I wasn't so tired right now, I'd comment on it, but I would rather do it tomorrow when I will certainly have a little more clarity of thought that I definitely don't have now at 3:34 am.

Great article, Burl. Because I too am nature oriented, I especially liked this part:

As many ecologists and scientists know, Nature thrives upon diversity. Indeed, it is diversity upon which a healthy ecosystem depends. Walk into any healthy forest and, with every step you take, you will find a wide array of differing species of plants. In contrast, our standardized farming practices make disease and its devastation of a crop more likely. For example, this year blight has hit the tomato crops in Maine. So, if you're a tomato farmer, you are likely to suffer big losses. However, if your garden is varied, then you will have other means of supporting yourself, your family and the surrounding community.

Our economic woes are directly related to the lack of economic diversity. We need to put the pressure on and keep it on until this begins to change. There is a parallel but unrelated movement to pull our money out of these big banks that do nothing but suck our economy dry, CNN is linking it to Occupy Wall Street, but it was started by one woman and is now being adopted by OWS:

Move Your Money Bank Day-organized by Occupy Wall Street

In an effort to send a message to big banks, some organizers, who are supported by the protestors of the Occupy Wall Street movement, have organized an event…CNN· 3 days ago

Evolution starts at home, within yourself and within your community, not in any external movement.

But overcoming the very apathy and ignorance that inhibits such evolution often takes an external source.

IMO, the last generation of parents have fallen woefully short of their obligations in creating a more enlightened youth.

And when I say "enlightened youth" I am not referring to such things as social networking, mastery of gadgetry, etc...
